When Ana, a young woman raised in the U.S., returns to her ancestral village in central India to establish a library, her noble mission unexpectedly disrupts the delicate balance of local politics and bureaucracy. What begins as an effort to promote literacy quickly spirals into chaos, revealing the absurd lengths to which the system will go to suppress change. As tensions rise and resistance mounts, Ana decides to take matters into her own hands by running for the Village Council. Her journey becomes a satirical exploration of the tangled web of power, tradition, and the perceived threat of knowledge in a community resistant to progress.
