While delivering food in a forested region of Andhra Pradesh, the impoverished Narasimha is captured by a group of Naxalites led by Velu and coerced into joining their ranks. Desperate to return home to his wife Uma, daughter Chinna, and son Mohan, Narasimha repeatedly asks to leave, but Velu continually denies his requests. Over time, Narasimha grows close to the group's members, including Lakshmi, a woman who was brutally gang-raped by policemen.
His loyalty is tested when he is ordered to kill an informant, a plainclothes police officer, and later participates in a raid on a school, tragically resulting in the deaths of several children. Shaken and guilt-ridden, Narasimha decides to escape. However, this choice sets him on a perilous path, alienating him from his family and turning him into a fugitive, hunted by both the Naxalites and the police.
